| When I toured the provinces after my return, I told the local people that I had no desire for any regime or position, that if Korea were to become independent, I wanted to go to the countryside to be a farmer, that I insisted that the first president be Dr. Rhee Syngman, my revered senior, and that I had been exerting efforts for national reunification.
