| Recently, abstract nouns such as "three-leaders’ collaboration" or " three big shots’ collaboration" have been in vogue. We insisted on the unity of the whole nation for the complete sovereignty and independence of our nation, and to achieve this purpose, we promoted the inter-Korean conference and recognized integration and unity of all relevant parties in South Korea as the priority for balanced promotion of the reunification of the two Koreas. Reunification and unity is a national mandate. However, if one is a political leader with strong political beliefs and arguments, rather than an unprincipled opportunistic politician who is scheming, it will be impossible for him to take political actions inconsistent with his beliefs.
Therefore, true integration and unity means compromise on the basis of one's political beliefs and claims. Vaguely termed integration and unity does not always translate into action. In recent days, each party advertises its own slogan of integration and unity but small parties and groups are excluded in the end because it is to ignore the connectivity between principle and methodology. In order to truly promote the integration and unity of the national camp, it would be the most democratic and reasonable way to present policies and concrete methods that would be supported by all patriots. It has been reported that Dr. Rhee met two Kims on new year’s day, but this has been denied. We should refrain from such attitudes in the future. |
