Since entering the country, I have tried to express my views once and for all, but surrounded by the foreign situation coming from all directions, and considering busy state affairs with all issues, I have been self-restrained and kept silent, but gradually the national opinion has become indistinguishable between the jade and an ordinary stone, and the state of affairs has been shrouded in a dark curtain, and now we are facing a great danger ahead of us.
First of all, I would like to address the issue of 'patriots and traitors, left and right'. What do you call the left and the right, and who do you call a patriot and a traitor? When it comes to dividing left and right, the union army has divided our fields into the North and the South, and the banners of pro-trusteeship and anti-trusteeship are strictly opposed, forming two camps. But there is no concept of left or right in my heart. I will only strive for the independence of our country and the happiness of my countrymen in the world. And my countrymen will also make efforts, in any circumstances and together with all the people of the world, for the both physical and metaphysical prosperity as well as survival of the both left and right by putting one step forward. As to the composite elements of the Platform for the Foundation of Nation, it doesn't matter if it's left or right. The principle of democracy has already been promised in international commitments. Will we, who have suffered from the evils of feudalism throughout the five thousand years of human history, once again long for and sing the praises of imperialism and capitalism, which are the collective organizations of oppressors and exploiters? For the complete independence of our country and the true freedom of our compatriots, 30 million people can only unite to take one direction ahead. The more I think about it, the more I feel like I'm being torn apart when looking at my people being divided by left and right. The winds and tides of the midstream were shared by implacable enemies, but we, who are isolated from the world and crying out for independence, will not dare to commit ethnic division. The absolute desire of 30 million people is only independence and liberation. I do not wish to be a colony of any country or a confederacy of any country. I will only struggle for independence as an absolute premise, in order to uphold the dignity of four thousand years of history, to fulfill the expectations of thirty million people, and to maintain the goodwill of martyred patriots for our liberation. It is my belief that the 30 million people will be the first to analyze and criticize, before anyone else, whether they are patriots or traitors. It has been thirty years since I was detained in the east and west and traveled to the north and south for the liberation of my country in severe environments, and I am seventy-one years old. How can I, who does not know my own future, abandon the aspirations of 30 million people and the high pride maintained for lifetime? On July 1, the Communist Party Secretariat published the "Joseon Inminbo" under the headline "Expel those responsible for the national division," calling me a monster of the terror, and when I saw this, I thought to myself, ¡®How many patriots and revolutionary fighters are there in the country?¡¯ Those who stood in the enemy's camp until the eve of the enemy's surrender, praised the enemy¡¯s war as a holy war, swore allegiance to the enemy's cause, raised up young students to fight in the battlefield, became the enemy's puppets, and entered the enemy's institutions to serve the enemy and oppress their own countrymen, and entered the enemy's governing body, the Japanese governorate in Korea, until the enemy surrendered and the allies entered, became all patriots, thinkers, and statesmen. They call me the monster of terror, and for this he does not deny. It is already known throughout the world that Kim Gu was responsible for the death of Yoon Bonggil and Lee Bongchang whose remains will be buried on July 6 with all the reverence of our entire nation. I would have done anything for the liberation of my country. If this would be a condition unfavorable, although it is very slight, to the independence of our country, I would leave the platform today and express my resignation frankly before my countrymen. Dear compatriots! When I looked at the mountains and rivers of homeland and think of your longed-for compatriots while traveling from one region to another, how could I have meant such an occasion as today? Reflect yourself, compatriots! Compatriots, unite! |
