| Some envoys tout the 31-2 vote of the Interim Committee of the UN General Assembly for the separate election but that’s not a very strong number when you consider that there are 57 member states of the UN.
Also, even if it is only a 4-2 vote of the Korea Commission, even with 2 abstentions, it is not a majority if you count the 9 or 8 states in the Commission, so this resolution is undemocratic. Nevertheless, we are deeply disturbed that representatives of the weaker nations who are supposed to sympathize with us are fomenting our divisions, and we are heartened to see that there is genuine public opinion around the world that is overwhelmingly opposed to South Korea’s separate government. |
